Control what the search box looks for

My general questions are regarding control of what the search box searches.

I am customizing the layout of a page and not sure how this works.  Is there a way to control which knowledgebase OR forum the search box looks for answers?

Second question, in this example I have Search Box on top and Knowledge Base 1, then Knowledge Base 2 under it.  So basically I have 2 separate knowledge bases on the same page under the Search Box.  Is there a way to that when a user types in question in Search Box it ONLY searches through the 2 knowledge bases that are on the same page?

Why do I want two knowledge bases on one page?  Well I have 2 products that I need a knowledge base for.  These two products share the same set of BASIC infomation.  So I would have 1 knowledge base for the BASIC knowledge, this would be shared for each page of the product, it would be on top.  Then below the BASIC information I would have specific knowledge base for each product.

Product 1

Product 2

Search box

Search box

BASIC info KB

Basic info KB
<--- this is the same info for both products

Product 1 KB

Product 2 KB

If I can't reuse a knowledge base on each Product page then I have to manually create duplicate content (BASIC info KB) for each product and maintain it :(

What is the best solution for this using UserEcho?

Hello,

if you use forum search box we search in the forum plus in the KB that linked with the forum (in the forum settings).

if you use KB search box we search in the KB only.

We are able to add results from specific (common) KB to all your results if you need it. Provide us KB ID and we will add it to your project.
