Many malfunctions only when selected language=French

I noticed some strange malfunctions, but ONLY when French is selected (at the bottom of the page), NOT with any of the other available languages:

1) Button "Show Voter" for a topic
=> doesn't show anything (but neighbor Button "Report" for menu seems OK)
e.g. http://legacyrecordings.userecho.com/?lang=fr

2) Blue button "+" to add comment
=> doesn't do anything
e.g. http://feedback.userecho.ru/topic/55-iphone-support-for-project-page/?lang=fr

3) Different results with Search field
e.g. http://feedback.userecho.com/
=> Type "French" in the Search field
=> Only 1 answer from http://feedback.userecho.com/?lang=fr
=> Many answers from http://feedback.userecho.com/?lang=en

4) Less topics displayed in welcome page
e.g. http://feedback.inst.ag from your CLIENTS examples
=> No topics presented if French is selected
=> Many topics if any of the 9 other languages is selected

Maybe there are other "strange things" not reported here and only related to French...

It's surprising that it's focused on this language only.

We fixed all issues that you reported.

Hope that  French version is more stable now.

All issues related to the incorrect escaping of single quote.

This issue broke javascript on pages an causes errors.

For example we have following string in Javascript.

English version

backcolor: 'Background color',

French version (Single quote broke JS)

backcolor: 'Couleur d'arrière-plan',
French fixed version
backcolor: 'Couleur d\'arrière-plan',

Oh yes! Escaping a single quote inside single quotes...

Well done, good work!

(Maybe your internal integration script could warn you of that when updating to the public version, or the translation tool could warn the translator?)

Congratulations.

By the way, currently some parts of the user web site in French are still in English, and this seems to be related to the fact that there is fewer string to translate in French > Userecho Website (proposes only 40 strings, whereas English > Userecho Website proposes up to 401 strings!)

We have added auto-escaping so now quotes inside translation will not broke JS.

Can you point us to such string we will investigate why it not appears in  the French.

Check your helpdesk, some strings must be translated from settings section of your project.

Well, to be more precise, my remark is twofold:

1) Some texts are translated, but appear in English in French version:

e.g. "Comments" instead of "Commentaires" (on UserEcho > Our team page > Top Commenters)

e.g. "Latest updates", "Popular topics" and "Currently in progress" (on the welcome page of UserEcho)

(By the way "Approved and planned tasks" appear in English, but is a different case)

1bis) "day" and "days" are translated, nevertheless singular translation for "two days ago" appear on Our team page:

e.g. "il y a 2 jour" instead of "il y a 2 jours"

2) Some texts exists, but are not proposed in the translation tool for French whereas they are proposed for other languages:

in French you have only 40 strings to translate in "Userecho Website", whereas you have "401" strings for English, Catalan, etc.

But I have not checked which one are missing currently, and where they appear.

My mistake concerning the point (1) above. Sorry.
Just consider 1bis and 2 ;-)

By the way, I noticed another malfunction only appearing when French is enabled:

User profile > Notifications

=> clicking on the envelope icon works in English

=> it has no effect in French

One of them is "Switch to mobile site".

Visible at the bottom right of the full site on iPad for instance.

- this strings does not exist to be translated in French > UserEcho Website

- but it exists in many other languages, like Russian, English, Catalan...
