ALL notifications being emailed to users in forum when they post new comment

Hi - We just realized that now when a new member posts to our forum, they are automatically being subscribed to ALL notifications on every post, rather than just their own post. This is extremely annoying for them, and when we have them go to their user profile and uncheck the notifications, they now receive no email notifications even when we comment on their own posts.


Is this a bug or new feature? We need a way to control this.

Due to your request we added option to control this behavior. 


Now private forums has following option in the settings.


Existing users who already subscribed and don't want to receive forum updates notification able to unsubscribe, using Unsubscribe link in the right panel.

Thanks so much! However, this is still not working for a couple of our users who got added to this feature in the past day. Even though the option says 'Subscribe' for them they are still receiving every single update to the forum. I had them click 'subscribe' and then 'unsubscribe' and it made no difference. We want them to still be able to get updates to their own feedback, but not to everything. What can we do? If it's helpful I can provide the usernames of the affected users.

Sure, just post their usernames via Private message and we check them.
