Better translation possibilities for dates

Currently, as visible on the above snapshot, the combination of English translations for date does not imply a perfectly localized text:
For instance
"created" -> "créé le"
"updated" -> "mis à jour le"
=> are perfect for the tooltip displaying "créé le 18 avril 2014..." and "mis à jour le 29 mai 2014..." (note that "LE" is really needed here in French)

But it is not correct combined with the other text that you can see on the same image:
"%(number)d %(type)s ago" -> "il y a %(number)d %(type)s"
=> displaying "mis à jour le il y a 4 jours" whereas in French it should avoid "LE" (that is relevant only to display a precise date), and should be instead "mis à jour il y a 4 jours".

So, the perfect way to translate could be to introduce a new string defining the way to display a precise date (with day & month & year). Then translators could write something like that:
"created" -> "créé"
"updated" -> "mis à jour"
"%(number)d %(type)s ago" -> "il y a %(number)d %(type)s"
"%(localized_date)s" -> "le %(localized_date)s" # The new string to display a precise date
Is it possible?
(Meantime, I inserted a translation compromise as workaround, but not as good as the above proposal).

P.S. Could it be possible to accept the French translations (including "ago" and others) since, as you can see on the image, French texts are still mixed with English texts concerning "ago"...
Best regards.

Moreover, this modification in UserEcho coud allow a better display:
currently we have, for a topic
posted by X, updated (date) Y in General
we could introduce the missing "by"
posted by X, updated (date) by Y in General
by defining two localizable strings for updates, as it already exists two strings for posts:
"posted by"

"posted"
Hi Ryan,
We have improved information about user in topic. Now it has information about user who updated topic.
Also date information has no any words now (posted, updated) and do not need translation.

By the way, I reverted the initial translation for "updated" (and "created") in the French translation to remove my first workaround (mentioned in the first message of this topic):
(Meantime, I inserted a translation compromise as workaround, but not as good as the above proposal).
These last pending strings are the last ones to be approved so as to get the full correct (new) display
(for now, texts like "updated yesterday" appear partly in English in French mode).
Regards.
We've approved all your translations.

Nice trick to avoid translation !
Looks good.
Thanks a lot
(now the new translated words have to be accepted for this new display :-) )

Hi,
I pray that there is hope for this slight (but important :-) ) improvement of the localization possibilities by clearly separating the "action" (created, ...) and and the date formating (X minutes ago, date in the past, ...) since I discovered another translation that is concerned with quite the same combination ("action" + some date formating):
"posted" = ...
Best regards!
