Social Like/share should be on topic rather than on comments

Is there any special reason why like/share options are present in comments and not in the main topic?
It is more likely to share an entire topic than to share a single comment. Besides it will make the comments section cleaner.

Ok, that looked to me more like sharing the whole project, I think it is a bit out of context there.

Then I'd suggest to move it to be below the topic like in most blogs and news sites (and maybe remove the comments sharing?)

The reason is (at least for facebook), that the higher number of shares a canonical url has, the more visibility it is given on the social network. So, somehow forcing the user to share/like the entire topic rather than comments separately will make the entire topic stronger and better ranked.
Thanks for detailed feedback.

  1. We fix all facebook developer suggestions
  2. Share icons will be placed closer to fit in context
  3. Comments sharing feature needed for some of our clients. But we can make it optional. And selectable from forum settings in admit part of site.

It's possible to share all topic using share option from the right panel.

Hi, any updates about 2 and 3?

An idea:

- On first post visible and dimmed (lights up when hover)

- On replies hidden and shows when hover.

Share buttons are now better positioned. Only missing the "Subscribe" option on top of the topic.
