Feature added:

Goto:

Select forum and update your widget code.
Or just add in widget insertion code parameter
category with needed category id the same as forum parameter.

Widget will display topics filtered by category and will process search within it.

And the following should as well on the forums pages, to keep consistence: when a category is selected, search only on that category.

Great, will try it now.

Can you also make the page search is restricted to the current selected category?

For example I send a link to someone with the category parameter and when he opens it and uses the search it should only see topics in that category.

Will add option to the forum settings. Toggle like Global search/Search within current category.

Good. And if url contains category id, search scope will automatically set to category.

I found one issue with the widget popup: if you press "View all feedback" it takes you to root page, but since widget is set for forum/category the link should as well redirect you to that section of the page. I'm sure user will then manage to get to the root if he wants/needs to.

Added to roadmap, will be implemented soon.

We make brainstorming and see that we already have this functionality.

It's forums, just create dedicated forum for each application and it will be search separated. e.t.c We increase forums limit for your account and can help with migration.

Otherwise it turns out that we are on the way functional overlap.

Ok thanks. Sounds better. Just will need to re accommodate topics.

Also forums has advantage it's possible to have customized right side for each forum.
