Setting Default status for a custom Topic

Hello, I created a custom topic type called wishes and set 3 statuses for the same. When I make a posting no default status is assigned to it. However, when the default 'Ideas" topic was active, every new posting used to be given a status 'Under Review' by default.
In the same way can we set a default status for a custom topic we created?

No, actually I wanted to ask, how do I assign a default "Under Review" status when someone adds a new idea.
Im trying now and there is no status applied to a new idea, I need to manually assign one.

You cannot set default status for a new topic. New topic has no status at all, because it new :)
You can set default status for first reply only. Sorry.
