What are tags for?
I added some tags to my knowledge base, but i dont really know how to use them. The search function doesnt find the tags and i dont see an option to sort topics by tags. So what is the benefit of tags?

For regular forums:
If you click to topiclist header or "browse all" link on Dashboard (main view) a TopicList view will be opened.
I see that you've added tags to the knowledge base. The same view will be opened if you click on a category from knowledge base.
