Spam issue

Hi,

I've been using your service for a while. I had no troubles until yesterday, when suddenly spam comments started appearing on my UserEcho page. I looked at the site setup for a solution, only to find out I need a paid plan in order to enable moderation or spam filter.
My UserEcho site is used for a freeware program. I don't get income for it, and I don't see any reason to pay for a spam filter, which should be a basic feature.
Is there any solution to the issue?

Regards,
RaMMicHaeL.

Hi,
We have added the moderation option to your service plan for free.
Try setup moderation or akismet filtering here

Thank you.

I'll try the Askimet filtering option, and will report you if I encounter more spam. Hopefully not,

Hi again,

I'm using the Akismet filtering now, and it does filter spam, but the thing is I still get email notifications for the spam messages, which is not desirable.

Moreover, the notifications for filtered comments are exactly the same as the notifications for the legit ones, so I cannot e.g. make a rule in Gmail to skip them.

Any solution to this?

Thanks,

RaMMicHaeL.

Hi.

We have added tag [Moderation] in the subject for these emails.
Example:
[UserEcho / General][Moderation] New comment for "Feedback subject here"

Now you can filter it in the Google, but we still recommend to browse these letters, as may accidentally filter out the normal review. All topics and comments in moderation you can see here.

Thanks.

I get dozens of spam messages every day, so I prefer to not get notified about them.
Also, until now, no legit messages were filtered.

Hello,

I'm starting to get spam on my other project, Unchecky:

Can the Akismet filter be enabled there, too?

Thanks.

OK, We have added it to one more your project.
If you will be ready to pay for our product just change your service plan :)

Thank you for the quick reply. The filter now works as expected.

Both of my projects are free and nonprofit, so I can't afford a paid service.
But as I have mentioned in the original question above, I think a spam filter is a very basic feature, that should be available (and probably turned on by default) on all plans.
