Edit post awaiting moderation

I may be wrong, but it seems that a user can't edit his post just after submitting a topic when it's "Awaiting moderation".

Nevertheless, quite often the user see some corrections possible when reading his text, and it could be usefull to be able to edit and correct it immediately, while it's "Awaiting moderation"...
Is it possible ?

Hello Ryann,
User is able to edit or delete own topic about 2 hours after post.
We have checked it and it works.

To edit post in the new interface user should open the topic (not from a list).
Staff can do it from the agent interface.

Arg, there is something wrong with me? I just tested a few minutes ago:

1. I created myself a new topic
=> I can't get any little pop-up menu with "Edit" next to the author line.

2. Moreover, I created myself a reply as comment to my own topic
=> Then, on the full page of the topic (listing the first message and the reply)
I can get the "Edit" button appearing next to the author line of the comment : OK
But I really can't get any "Edit" button next to the author line of the first message of the topic.

By the way, for me, the missing "Edit" button explained in this topic is not really related to the "Awaiting moderation" status, but simply linked to the fact that is the first message of a topic.
But I still have no idea of where is the button to edit that first message.

Ryann, "Edit topic" placed in right side menu! Check it again please.

OKayyyyyyyyyyyy, I get it.
Since I never used the actions listed in the right column, I didn't notice it.
As explained above: I was just looking for the same "user interface" than for editing a comment
=> the dynamic pop-up menu appearing next to the author line.

OK I understand now:
- there is a dynamic pop-up menu with "Edit" on any reply message
- but there is no dynamic pop-up with "Edit" on the first message, only the actions listed in the right column.
=> that works!

But I guess I won't be the only one to misunderstand that a "first message" must be edited another way than all the other messages of a topic.
Then my ticket could/should be renamed "Why not a pop-menu with Edit/Reply/Delete for the first message of a topic" ;-)
=> I'll open it soon, just to see if I'm now totally aware of this function (and to see if the votes are favorable).

Thank you for your explanations.

By the way, are you sure that a user can edit his own message "2 hours" after creating it?
My last comment is timestamped "1 hour ago" and cannot be edited any longer :-(

User can edit topic about 2 hours after posting and edit comment (reply) about 30 minutes after posting.

OK, thank you for pointing out this detail to me.
Did not know that difference of timeout.
