Feedback widget opening a private forum

We have a Feedback widget on our website, which links to a private forum.  However, on the privacy settings advising any user who is not logged in that our forum is private, we have a link in the pop up form so they can register their interest in joining the forum, which is a Mailchimp form.  However, the link seems to pop up the Mailchimp form and all the formatting is out and just looks wierd.  Is there any way we can fix this?  I have removed the Feedback tab from our site at this stage until we can get a fix or a work around, thanks.

Seems that you need to add 

target="_blank" 

to the link html code

Check it now we applied updates, now all should look more consistent.
