widget customization based on url - page-specific results

I am wondering if there is a feature or ability to have page-specific results with the widget. For example, on a page for a specific product the widget - if activated - could display articles related to that specific product. This feature would be huge for me - very very useful!

Hello,

You are able to pass specific forum_id and category_id to the widget on specific page.

So, you can check in your page (your code) what forum or category you need to show and pass it to the widget (dynamic widget code).

hmm ok this could be helpful. I will try to play around with this. So there's not really a way to pass something else like page url that could then match a url tag or something in a topic, bringing that topic(s) up to the top under suggestions?

I don't think I can pass the category/forum because the widget code is the same - built into the footer of the website. I can't have 2 instances of the widget code - one in the page and one in the footer. That's why it would be so cool if, for example, topics and/or categories could be bound to URLs, so that when the widget is opened under that URL they would automatically come up.

Could we vote on this feature to be added?

It is not necessary. Try to explain your realization. We do not see any good way to "link" your page url with some topics and then filter by this parameter.

Our vision is different categories and you provade specific category to the widgen when you initialize it on your website. It's really easy if you have a dynamic pages on your website.
