Is there a way to make the edit box bigger vertically - it's only about 75 pixels high
For long posts, it's way too small, and without a preview it's really difficult to review the content before posting it

You can use fullscreen mode or drag bottom of editor with mouse to expand.

Ok, we recommend to use Chrome with UE. Seems that we need to improve editor interface to be more intuitive.
Thanks, I hadn't spotted full screen mode. Dragging with the mouse doesn't appear to work in Chrome (no drag indicator and dragging does nothing) - works in IE.
