How To: Lock Editing

How can I lock editing of original post? Let's say somene posts their question. How can I make it so they only have one day to edit their original post, then editing locks? They can still make comments, just not edit their original post?

At this moment UserEcho auto-lock topics after 2 hours for regular users. Only users with admin rights able to edit topics all time.

It is not possible now. We are considering about additional settings for this parameter.

  • I support the idea of custom edit time window, perhaps determined by the User Rating.

  • Additionally or alternatively, a user should be allowed to add a Comment to their Topic / Post, even before moderation, in case they discover new information or even fix their own problem. Topics are "living documents" ... often a customer will post a Topic (or open a Ticket) very quickly while they are still searching for other answers and workaround. ... and, indeed, often they find a solution or a community user provides an Answer in a different Topic.

  • How very ironic... I discovered that, indeed, "Replies" to one's own Topic are actually allowed, even after I made this post here! So the above bullet is not relevant -- already possible, thanks.
