Better link between polls and votes: more clarity

Hello,

UserEcho proposes to add "polls" to topics, for instance to allow the visitors to answer Yes / No / Maybe.

Currently, when the admin creates this poll he can keep (or hide) simultaneously the vote counter. But there seems to be no link between "answering to the poll" and the "vote count", that does not make things very clear:

- the visitor can click on the vote button (and increase the counter) without answering to any questions of the poll.

- on the other hand many users can perfectly answer the poll, and never click on the vote counter, that will remain to zero and not "popular".

If the vote counter is supposed to remain visible as it is possible currently, my suggestion would be to "link" it to the poll (and therefore count its real popularity):

1. If a poll is associated to the topic, then the vote counter is forced into a positive-only display for the vote counter (whatever the forum allows).

2. If the visitor answers to one option of the poll, he is counted as a voter. If he removes all his poll answers, he is no longer a voter.

3. Concerning the "click" on the vote counter. It could no longer have an effect to vote (because the user has to choose one option in the poll), but it could maybe remain possible to remove your vote as in any topic, in other words to remove all your poll-options.

I don't know if it is technically reasonable, but I am convinced it would make things clear concerning polls & votes.

Thanks for detailed suggestion,

we consider about removing voting actions on the vote presenter and it will display total count of poll votes. So it will reflect popularity of the poll.

This option (click on vote counter to see list of voters) does not appear to function for me. A "question mark" cursor appears when hovering over the count, but click results in no action.

Fixed.

We have added ability to see variant supporters, just click on the [1] to see it

Yes something along these lines is really needed for the polls to have any value at all.

One of the reasons I chose UserEcho was because of the ability to have polls as part of the feedback but currently they are useless because you can't determine what people are voting for (how many votes per variant as a total population for each poll/variant.)

Agree with @Rya but liking the polls directly to the vote counter won't work either unless it is a Yes/No type of poll.

Polls such as the image below needs a way to measure how the users feel about that specific topic.

Is there any idea when this feature will be available?

We will implement ability to see who voted for each variant, within 24 hours.
